(Fremont County, WY) – The November 4 crash reported yesterday outside of Jeffrey City resulted in one death and four injuries, according to the Wyoming Highway Patrol (WHP) preliminary report posted on November 5.
The deceased, a 16-year-old juvenile from California who was a passenger in the vehicle, was not named in the report.
The crash occurred on November 4 at approximately 8:25 AM on US 287 / WY 789 near milepost 10.
The report states that the vehicle was southbound on WY 789, when the driver lost control on the ice/snow-covered roadway.
The vehicle rotated counterclockwise as it left the roadway, and began to slide before tripping and rolling several times.
Speed was listed as a contributing factor in the report, which also stated that seatbelts were not in use.
There have been 87 fatalities reported on Wyoming’s roadways to date in 2024.
