(Fremont County, WY) – The final unofficial results for the 2024 General Election were tabulated and shared just after 11 PM on Election Night.
At the top of the ticket, more than 66 percent of Fremont County voters (11,552) cast ballots for Republican Donald Trump in the presidential race, while almost 30 percent (5,179) voted for Democrat Kamala Harris.
Local voters also cast 329 ballots for Libertarian presidential candidate Chase Oliver, and there were 196 write-in votes.
Statewide, 192,576 people voted for Trump, 69,508 voted for Harris, 4,191 voted for Oliver, and 2,694 voted for write-in candidates.
Congress
In Wyoming’s U.S. Senate race, almost 69 percent of Fremont County voters (11,930) cast ballots for Republican incumbent John Barraso, while Democrat Scott D. Morrow received about 28 percent of the local vote (4,823), and there were 114 write-ins.
Statewide, Barrasso earned 198,366 votes to Morrow’s 63,706, and there were 2,017 write-ins.
In Wyoming’s U.S. House of Representatives race, almost 65 percent of Fremont County voters (11,258) chose incumbent Republican Harriet Hageman, while Democrat Kyle G. Cameron received about 25 percent of the local vote (4,369).
Fremont County resident Richard Brubaker, who ran as a Libertarian in the race, earned 660 local ballots, while Constitution Party candidate Jeffrey Haggit received 269 votes, and there were 108 write-ins.
Statewide, the totals were 184,626 for Hageman, 60,763 for Cameron, 9,219 for Brubaker, and 5,360 for Haggit, with 1,503 write-ins.
Wyoming Legislature
There were only two contested legislative elections in Fremont County this year.
In Wyoming House District 33, Democratic challenger Ivan Posey won the race with 1,675 votes to incumbent Republican Sarah Penn’s 1,210, and there were 13 write-ins.
In House District 28, which spans multiple counties, incumbent Republican John Winter received 279 local votes to Democratic challenger Larry Alwin’s 45.
Winter also won in Big Horn County (920-85), Hot Springs County (1,979-573), and Park County (808-153), for a total of 3,986 votes to Alwin’s 856.
Other local legislative elections were uncontested, including the race for multi-county Senate District 20, where incumbent Republican Ed Cooper earned 305 votes in Fremont County, 1,475 votes in Big Horn County, 2,179 votes in Hot Springs County, 834 votes in Park County, and 3,442 votes in Washakie County for a total of 8,235 ballots cast in his favor.
Republican Tim Salazar also ran uncontested for re-election to Wyoming Senate District 26, and he earned 7,266 votes, while 224 people cast write-in ballots.
Republican Pepper Ottman ran uncontested for re-election to Wyoming House District 34, and she earned 4,117 votes, while 116 people cast write-in ballots.
Republican Lloyd Larsen ran uncontested for re-election to Wyoming House District 54, and he earned 3,821 votes, while 371 people cast write-in ballots.
Republican Joel Guggenmos ran uncontested for Wyoming House District 55, and he earned 2,858 votes, while 363 people cast write-in ballots.
