Three men from Colorado were rescued by Teton County Search & Rescue after becoming stranded on Togwotee Pass this week.
Monday afternoon, Search and Rescues in Teton and Fremont Counties, as well as Teton and Fremont County Sheriff’s received a report of three snowmobilers that were overdue to return.
Other members of the group’s party told authorities they believed the snowmobilers became stuck near Angle Mountain.
They were forced to stay Monday night in the elements. Tuesday morning, Teton County Search and Rescue sent snowmobiles to the area and performed a rescue operation.
Road closures, a snowstorm, and the time of day in which the missing persons were reported all helped delay the rescue efforts. Air rescue was also ruled out because of conditions.
Teton County Sheriff Matt Carr reported to the Jackson Hole News & Guide that there were no injuries to any of the men.
The men received a citation for snowmobiling in a wilderness area.
