(Riverton, WY) – The body of a 43-year-old woman was found in a burning Riverton residence Friday evening, August 15, according to the August 18 Fremont County Sheriff’s Office call log.
The identity of the deceased was not shared in the report.
The FCSO was called for a Fire Department Assist around 8:09 PM, after they received reports of a “completely engulfed trailer house” on Snowberry Lane.
The FCSO call log states the body of the woman was found inside the home when responders made their way inside.
Riverton Volunteer Fire Department Chief Jesse Cassity confirmed these details Monday afternoon, and shared that the Riverton Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the home as well, where “five pieces of Riverton Fire District apparatus and approximately 15 to 16 Riverton firemen” responded to the fire.
“Upon arrival, we found a fully involved single-wide trailer house that had started to extend to a neighboring trailer house,” Chief Cassity informed, and added that there were no other injuries reported, both for residents and responders.
Chief Cassity also shared that in addition to the FCSO and RVFD, the Riverton Police Department and Frontier Ambulance responded.
The origin and cause of the fire are currently under investigation by the FCSO, and the Fremont County Coroner’s Office is investigating the death.
No additional details are available at this time. County 10 has submitted for a Coroner’s docket, and will provide further details as they become available in the coming weeks.
