The social hour and silent auction open at 5:00 PM; dinner begins at 6:00 PM. There will also be games and a live auction. Tickets are $30 per person; couples are $50, and kids 12 and under are $10. ‘Ballgowns & Badges’ is FCLEF’s major annual fundraiser for all of Fremont County’s law enforcement officers and agencies. Funds raised are used to provide grants that contribute towards needs such as equipment, tools, uniforms, vehicles, training events, non-contractual hiring costs, and more.
Last year, FCLEF provided funding for four computer stations for the Fremont County Sheriff’s office (Riverton), e-citation software for Dubois PD, and funds were granted to Riverton PD for a Res-Q throw phone upgrade, food for a multi-day tactical training event, temporary housing for the new Lieutenant, and a barbecue/smoker for the officers. So far this year, FCLEF has helped provide various patrol supplies for 32 FCSO vehicles.
They also provide meals for the DUI Task Force and for officers on duty or attending major county events, such as the Fremont County Fair and the Friday Night Cruise.
“There is no better way to show our appreciation for all that our law enforcement officers do for us,” said FCLEF President Brett Johnson. “It’s been very gratifying to see over the past three years, when we first started FCLEF, how the communities of Fremont County have come together in support and have contributed towards their success.”
Formal attire is not required for Ballgowns & Badges, although attendees are encouraged to wear blue in keeping with the ‘Night in Blue’ theme.
“Just come on out for a great night of food and fun,” said FCLEF’s Vice President Tami Marshall. “There are a lot of great items that have been donated for the live and silent auctions by our local businesses and private donors. You won’t want to miss out!”
