(Riverton, WY) – A benefit barrel race is currently in the planning stages for 18-year-old Gilbee Roden, a 2025 Riverton High School graduate who was recently life-flighted after sustaining a traumatic brain injury during a dirt bike race on May 21.
The benefit will take place on June 21, and there will also be a silent auction. Additional details are in the flyer below.
“All proceeds will go to the Roden family to help them with the many expenses they are going to endure during Gilbee’s recovery,” the event page informs.
“Gilbee is a young man who loves with all his heart,” Gilbee’s GoFundMe bio states. “He loves fishing, dirt bike riding, soccer, and anything outdoors. There’s nothing he wouldn’t do for anyone.”
“The doctors are anticipating a two-week stay in (the) ICU,” according to the most recent update on the GoFundMe page. “Once he is past the critical stage and ready, the plan is to start his recovery and therapy. The rehabilitation hospital is 5 1/2 hours from home. The road ahead will be long and challenging, physically, mentally, and financially exhausting.”
