(Riverton, WY) – The Boys & Girls Club of Riverton is making steady progress in its Leading the Way campaign, reaching half of its goal with 62 gifts and counting. This initiative is designed to help pay for the Club’s new building, support long-term sustainability, invest in quality programs, and ensure that Riverton youth continue to have access to a safe, welcoming place after school and on out-of-school days.
As part of the campaign, the Club is installing a donor wall inside the Boys & Girls Club facility. Community members who give $250 or more will be permanently recognized for their contribution to the future of Fremont County youth.
Since opening in 2021, the Boys & Girls Club of Riverton has served 651 youth, providing mentorship, academic support, and life-enhancing programs that prepare young people for success beyond high school.
The Club’s new building is the former Ashgrove Elementary building on North 1st Street—a 34,630-square-foot facility situated on 4.7 acres. Originally built in 1953, the Ashgrove site provides dedicated spaces for learning and recreation, including a gymnasium, cafeteria, safe outdoor play areas, and the future home of WyoTowne, an immersive financial literacy experience for youth.
“Our new facility allows us to double our capacity and expand our programming to serve more youth in grades K-12,” said Ashley Bright, CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming. “But we can’t do it alone—we’re inviting the Riverton community to help Lead the Way.”
Donations to the campaign help fund three key areas:
- Basic Needs: Providing meals, social-emotional support, and a place where youth feel safe and known.
- Innovative Programs: Expanding academic, athletic, and leadership offerings—plus launching a Teen Club.
- Quality Staff: Supporting salaries and training for youth development professionals as membership grows.
