(Riverton, WY) – Riverton’s Mercy House is hosting a fundraising gala this weekend at St. Margaret’s Gym, 220 N. 7th E., to support the opening of a new homeless shelter in town.
“At Mercy House, our mission is to provide a path forward for individuals struggling with homelessness in Riverton,” organizers said on the event website. “Our goal is to help each person, regardless of their circumstances, regain their independence and become thriving, contributing members of society.”
Doors to the event open at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, April 6, and the gala begins at 6 p.m., featuring a brisket dinner, auction and raffle.
“I highly encourage you to go,” Riverton City Councilmember Karla Borders said during a meeting this week. “It’s a great charity that’s coming to town, (and it’s) much needed.”
