(Lander, WY) – Calling all golfers in Fremont County! Want to enjoy a day of fun, friendly competition, and make a difference for community safety and our law enforcement agencies? The Fremont County Law Enforcement Foundation (FCLEF) is holding its ‘‘Fore the Force’ benefit golf tournament at the Lander Golf Club on Sunday, September 14.
Check-in is at 8:00 a.m.; tee-off is 9:00 a.m. 18-hole scramble and a silent auction are in store for the day. Team registrations are $300 and include lunch and prizes. Hole sponsorships are $150. Individuals and local businesses can sponsor holes and teams, and donate auction items.

‘Fore the Force’ is an event that benefits all of Fremont County’s law enforcement through FCLEF, supporting officers and agencies with funding for associated costs of equipment, tools, training events, non-contractual hiring costs, and more.
“We’ve had such an amazing outpouring of support from our communities since we started this,” said FCLEF President Brett Johnson. “We didn’t want the nice weather to pass us by before we could have another opportunity for folks to spend a nice day out on the green for a great cause.”
“The money we raise truly just stays here in Fremont County,” said FCLEF Treasurer Becky Kenyon at the August 5 Riverton City Council meeting. Kenyon had listed off several items the foundation was able to fund since its start in January 2024 that included meals for officers during community events, AED pads, e-citation software, equipment and belts for Dubois PD, temporary housing for the new RPD lieutenant, laptops and keyboards for the Fremont County Sheriff’s office, and much more.
“They were so excited just to get new computers,” Kenyon said about the laptops for the Sheriff’s office. “…They were so excited that they didn’t have to wait 45 minutes for their computers to boot up. And I think those are very real things. Budgets are hard…that’s kind of where we want to step in and be able to help out.”
