(Albany County, WY) – Albany County Sheriff’s, firefighters and EMS worked together to manually lift hundreds of pounds of debris off of a man who became pinned under a trapped structure Thursday afternoon.
The Albany County Sheriff’s Department released the following statement about the incident.

On September 9, 2025, at approximately 12:20 p.m., the Albany County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched with Big Laramie Fire Volunteers and Laramie Fire/EMS to a residence on Highway 230 after a woman called 911 reporting that her husband was trapped under a collapsed structure.
When deputies and firefighters arrived, they found the man pinned beneath a wall, roof, and cinderblocks. He was struggling to breathe as the weight of the debris held him down.
Deputies and members of Big Laramie Fire Volunteers worked side by side to manually move the wreckage off him. With determination and strength, they freed the man, who was then stabilized on scene and transported by Laramie Fire/EMS to a local hospital.
This incident serves as a reminder of the bravery and teamwork of our first responders—and the resilience of a man who endured a terrifying ordeal. Our thoughts are with him and his family as he continues to recover.
