Six Wyoming High School athletes took gold in individual events at the prestigious Simplot Games. A third of those were from Fremont County.
Lander’s Adelyn Anderson repeated her 2025 Simplot Games championship in the shot put, winning first place again with a throw of 47-1. Anderson’s best this season is 50-11.5.
Also returning to the finals was Riverton’s phenomenal sprint hurdler Addison Alley. Alley was fifth in 2025 in a time of 9.03, but she improved four places and won the event last weekend with a blistering 8.88 time.
Other Fremont County athletes at the games were Riverton’s Jameson Spradlin, who made the finals in the long jump, placing 29th with a leap of 19-9.75. Lander’s Gavin Romer was 39th in the shot pu with a heave of 41-9.
Lander long sprinter Ava Gerlach was 16th overall in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:01.34.
Gerlach teamed up with teammates Ella Giesmann, Addi Rounds, and Katy Anderson in the sprint medley, placing 9th overall in a time of 4:26.02.
