(Riverton, WY) – Polar Express, an annual Christmas fundraiser, was the place to be Saturday for Fremont County children. Three sessions, the first at 10 am and the next two in the afternoon, featured a chance to meet Santa Claus and get a candy cane, booths to make buttons, get a scratch-on tattoo, read a few books, do a few other projects, and get a muffin and some hot chocolate.
The fundraiser is the largest of the year for the Central Wyoming Center for Art, Technology & Science, commonly known among young children and their parents as CATS.
CATS is located at 120 South Third East in Riverton, across from the Gem Theater.
The center offers a wide variety of educational opportunities for youngsters with a pizza shop, a veterinary clinic, marble games, light exhibits, reading stations, a music room, oversized blocks that can be used to build tunnels, and a favorite of many children, a grocery store complete with items, checkout stands, and carts.
CATS is open Thursday through Saturday during their regular season.
Admission can be for single trips or a family pass for four, which is good for a calendar year.
