Each week, staff at Arapaho Charter High School nominate a student who has shown outstanding behavior toward their peers and in their academics. At the end of the year, County 10 will award a $500 scholarship to one of the nominated students! Click here to view all nominated students.
Amaya LoneBear was nominated as the Arapaho Charter High School student of the week by Azalea Hanway.
The Arapaho Charter High School Student of the Week is Amaya Lonebear.
Amaya is an 11th grader, and the daughter of Brittany Spoonhunter. Her diligence and dedication to her studies is second to none, and she sports an average classroom percentage of 94.7% across her schedule for the semester so far. What’s more, she is a positive and encouraging classmate to her peers, and always has a ready smile for everyone. “Amaya shows so much dedication to all aspects of our school. Being able to watch her come out of her shell more this year has been inspiring! She’s one of our quiet leaders; she leads with her drive to be successful in all her classes and to show kindness to everyone. Her work ethic is very admirable and shows in everything she’s involved in,” says her nominating staff member. Her work ethic and positive attitude are an uplifting part of our school, and she always has a kind word for those around her.
Amaya is active in ACHS projects, including prom fundraising, Food Distribution, and occasional bake sales. She is a regular fixture on the ACHS Honor Rolls, and has previously been recognized as our Student of the Week. Outside of school Amaya loves to hangout with her family and recently has become and avid reader of fantasy fiction. She has also taken up beading and plans to sell her beadwork once she generates some of her own creations. After high school Amaya plans to attend college to become an Ultrasound Technician.
