Devin Martel was nominated as the Arapaho Charter High School student of the week by ACHS Staff.
The Arapaho Charter High School Student of the Week is Devin Martel!
Devin, a junior at ACHS, is the son of Brett Martel and Mallorie Goodman. In his 11th grade year he has stepped up his academic perfomance and taken ownership if his education. One nominating teacher stated "Devin has 'locked in' this school year! He has had great attendance and has kept up with his grades. Devin is a friend to everyone, and a leader on the basketball court. He is willing to help out when needed, he is polite, respectful and a great asset to ACHS." Another says "Devin has kept an upbeat attitude, has been present on most school days and has stayed ahead on his school work."
Turning the corner toward the end of 1st semester, Devin is looking forward to the upcoming basketball season. He is a team leader on and off the floor, and will also participate in Track in the spring. In addition to sports, he is also active with the district's Food Distribution program and participated in the Unity Walk for Suicide Prevention & Awareness Week. When he's not active with school events, he enjoys hanging out with with his girlfriend and their baby and playing basketball any chance he gets. Once he graduates from high school he hopes to play college basketball somewhere, and as an alternative would like to find a good job in the oil field or construction work. ACHS is proud of you, Devin – keep up the good work!
