Each week, staff at Arapaho Charter High School nominate a student who has shown outstanding behavior toward their peers and in their academics. At the end of the year, County 10 will award a $500 scholarship to one of the nominated students! Click here to view all nominated students.

Shaylena CrazyThunder is one of two Arapaho Charter High School students to be honored as Student of the Week this week!
Shaylena, or Shay as she is affectionately known – is one of two students who will be graduating from ACHS when the semester ends on December 20th. Her achievements at ACHS have been exemplary, and she has been consistently on the Honor Roll in each of her semesters. Her commitment to her academics has enabled her to graduate in 7 semesters. One nominating staff member writes “Shay has, and continues to show, all of the qualities a great student should have. She is respectful, responsible, polite, helpful, funny, and involved. Shay also works after school and is showing upward growth at work (becoming a manager) working almost full time and attending school. She has maintained an above average GPA and exceeds every goal she set for herself. Way to go Shay!!”
At ACHS Shay has been a model citizen and active with the district’s Food Distribution program. Outside of school she works long hours, but still finds time to enjoy shooting hoops with her brother and playing basketball. She plans to travel to see her father after graduating, and then enroll at the University of Wyoming to study Criminal Justice. Congratulations, Shay!!
