Arts in Action is hosting a concert event at the Robert A Peck Arts Center (2660 Peck Ave., Riverton) on Tuesday, September 23rd, and you’re invited!
Peter Mawanga is a globally acclaimed Malawian artist renowned for his pioneering music style, Nyanja Afro-Vibes, a rich fusion of traditional instruments and contemporary sounds. His performances captivate audiences across Africa, Europe, and North America, earning him recognition as a cultural ambassador and one of Africa’s musical icons.
Mawanga’s artistry reflects core values of his Nyanja heritage, which is rooted in peace, resilience, and celebration of life. Malawi, known as “The Warm Heart of Africa,” has never experienced war, and its music carries a therapeutic and unifying essence. Peter’s compositions evoke deep emotion, soothe the spirit, and celebrate humanity, drawing audiences into transformative experiences.
Mawanga’s trio will perform one night only at the Peck Arts Center Theatre on Tuesday, September 23rd, at 7 PM, and will be joined by a choir of local singers from Fremont County.
