(Fremont County, WY) – Atlantic City Federal Credit Union (ACFCU) is proud to announce the installation of solar arrays at its Riverton and Lander branches, reinforcing the Credit Union’s commitment to sustainability and operational resilience.
At the Riverton branch, a 60-panel solar array has been installed on the roof, generating up to 25 kWh of electricity—the maximum allowed by state statutes. This system is expected to offset approximately 85% of the branch’s electricity costs.
“This investment in solar energy not only represents ACFCU’s commitment to environmental responsibility but also aligns with our goal of operational efficiency,” said Dave Goldman, CFO at ACFCU. “In addition to reducing our carbon footprint, the system helps insulate us from future increases in energy prices. It just makes good business sense.”
The Lander branch also boasts a new solar array with a battery backup system. The array will generate up to 25 kWh of electricity, offsetting approximately 25% of the branch’s utility use. The backup battery system creates another redundancy, enhancing ACFCU’s ability to serve its members by ensuring uninterrupted operations during extended power outages.
The battery backup system at our Lander branch ensures that all our members will continue to have access to cash, loan services, and online banking during times of crisis. This initiative demonstrates our dedication to supporting our members when they need it most.
The solar array is designed to harness sustainable energy while helping reduce operational expenses, allowing the Credit Union to reallocate those savings to better serve its members.
