August 25 Commission meeting recap

(Lander, WY) – The Fremont County Commissioners convened for a regular meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 25, and have provided the following recap of the meeting.

1. A Right-of-Way Easement application from Full Circle Fiber for Township 2N, Range 5E, and Section 30 was approved.
2. A bid from Jerry Seiner Chevrolet for 4 pickups in the amount of $192,215.00 and additional cost for set-up in the amount of $39,152 for the Transportation department was approved to come out of the Capital Revolving Fund.
3. A bid from Jerry Seiner Chevrolet for 2 pickups in the amount of $97,822.00 and additional cost for set-up in the amount of $18,772 for the Sheriff’s Office was approved to come out of the Capital Revolving Fund.
4. A bid for computer replacements from Dell in the amount of $28,786.60 for the Sheriff’s Department was approved to come out of the Capital Revolving Fund.
5. Approach Access 2025-032A from Travis McNiven for Summer Hill Rd. was approved.
6. A contract amendment with the Department of Family Services TANF grant, increasing the total contract dollar amount by $7,500 to $22,500 and to extend the contract through September 30, 2027, was approved.
7. It was approved to acknowledge the Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Certification form for the TANF grant.
8. A Right-of-Way Easement application number 2025-174U from High Plains Power for 760 N Pavillion Rd was approved.
9. It was approved to sign a letter of support for Cent$ible Nutrition to apply for the Ending Wasted Food
   Program Grant Funding through the National Household Wasted Food Prevention Project.
10. The Spencer Home Sites Subdivision Lots 13-19 and the southern fraction of 20 Replat was approved.
11. Resolution 2026-23 Vacating a portion of a publicly dedicated road known as Pleasant Drive in the Spencer Home Sites Subdivision was approved.
12. Resolution 2026-24 to amend the Fremont County Procurement Policy and Procedure Manual section “6(a)” referencing bid bonds to match Wyoming State Statutes.
13. It was approved to add an additional $25,000 out of LATC for the Youth Camp Improvement Project.
14. A bid from Alexander Excavation Inc. in the amount of $136,907.00 was approved for the sewer project at the Youth Camp.
15. It was approved to add an additional $6100 to the Griffey Hill Communications Site Project to come out of LATC funding.
16. It was approved to reallocate a retired sheriff’s vehicle to Emergency Management for their use.
17. It was approved to rehire a full-time Legal Secretary in the Riverton Office not to exceed $41,000 annually.
18. Resolution 2026-25 Budget Amendment 7 was approved moving funds from the Wyoming Office of Homeland Security to Emergency Management in the amount of $4,000 for election security and $18,550 for employee training.
19. It was approved to close the Courthouse to the public on Columbus Day, October 12, 2026 for an in-house work day and Emergency Management training for county employees.
