(Riverton, WY) – A baby who was reported to be in a vehicle that was stolen in the Riverton area Sunday Evening has been recovered and found to be “unharmed,” according to a recent Facebook post from the Riverton Police Department (RPD).
RPD first reported about the vehicle theft around 8:20 PM Sunday evening, and advised for people to keep a lookout for a Silver Ford Escape (plate # 45920) when it was determined that a baby was inside the vehicle.
“A baby had been left in the car when someone stole the mother’s car with the baby still in an infant seat in the back of the vehicle,” the most recent update from the RPD informs.
Following a “multi-agency search,” the vehicle was found off of Riverview Road, where the baby was retrieved “unharmed,” and was placed “in the care of law enforcement.”
“The search for the car thief is underway,” the RPD update also states.
RPD requests that “anyone who may have seen something in this area or may have security camera footage,” to please call them with details.
