(Fremont County, WY) – A pedestrian was killed in an incident that occurred in the area of WY 138, Rendezvous Road, and 17 Mile Road on January 16, at around 8:10 PM, according to the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) preliminary report released on January 19.
The report identified the deceased as 35-year-old Wyoming resident Zachary Bowman.
The report narrative states that a vehicle “was eastbound on Rendezvous Rd.,” when a pedestrian, later determined to be Bowman, “ran into the eastbound lane of travel from the south side of the roadway.”
The vehicle swerved left to avoid colliding with the pedestrian, who was ultimately struck on the front passenger side.
The two occupants of the vehicle were uninjured. No further details were shared in the report. There have been four deaths reported on Wyoming roadways so far in 2026. This is the first to occur in Fremont County.
