(Fremont County, WY) – A reported one-vehicle rollover occurring on WY 132, aka “Blue Sky Highway,” on March 5, resulted in two fatalities and one injury, according to the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) preliminary report released on March 6.
The deceased have been identified as Wyoming residents Naomi Yellowbear (40) and Kathryn Brown (20).
The report states that the rollover occurred near milepost 14.9 on WY 132, around 10:52 AM, with the narrative informing that the vehicle was northbound on WY 132 when it exited the roadway to the right.
The driver then overcorrected the vehicle to the left, the narrative continues, causing it to enter a passenger-side-leading yaw and cross both lanes of traffic.
The vehicle then entered the southbound borrow ditch, and the driver steered to the right, which caused it to begin a driver’s side leading yaw. The vehicle then tripped, rolled, and came to rest on its roof facing the roadway.
The report states that road conditions were “dry,” weather conditions were “cloudy/overcast,” seat belts were not in use by either party, and that “driver inattention” was a possible contributing factor.
There have been 19 fatalities on Wyoming’s roadways to date in 2026.
