(Fremont County, WY) – A one-vehicle rollover that occurred on May 8 in the Mission Road/Goes In Lodge Road area resulted in two fatalities and one injury, according to the Bureau of Indian Affairs preliminary report posted on May 11.
The deceased have been identified as Wyoming residents Kalvin Yellowbear (23) and Rosario Lopez (23).
According to the report narrative, around 10:39 PM, a vehicle was northbound on Mission Road, traveling “at a high rate of speed,” while approaching Goes In Lodge Road, when it “failed to negotiate a left curve and ran off the roadway to the right.”
The vehicle then “drove up the roadway embankment toward Goes In Lodge Road and vaulted approximately 154 feet,” at which point it “rolled end-over-end approximately 3 times, struck a utility pole while airborne, and came to rest on its wheels, where it caught fire.”
“Speed” and “Other” were listed as possible contributing factors in the crash, and the report noted that seat belts were not in use.
There have been 33 deaths reported on Wyoming roadways to date in 2026.
