A bill is being introduced that would limit when Wyoming voters would be allowed to change their political party affiliation.
Senate File 32 would ban voters from changing affiliation from the time that people can be nominated or file for office through the day of the primary election.
The Gillette News-Record is reporting that the bill is being co-sponsored by Rep. Scott Clem of Gillette.
The issue of party-changing was addressed during the 2018 Wyoming Primary Election.
Some contended that several Democrats changed affiliation to Republicans in an attempt to prevent Republican Foster Friess from winning the Republican Governor race.
Mark Gordon ultimately defeated a second-place Friess, then went on to beat Democrat Mary Throne in the General Election.
The state Legislature will reconvene Tuesday in Cheyenne.
