(Lander, WY) – The Bureau of Land Management has finalized its plan for updated overnight fees at the Atlantic City, Big Atlantic Gulch and Cottonwood campgrounds within the Lander Field Office area. The fee changes will be initiated on May 1, 2025.
“These three campgrounds annually provide over 3,000 visitors with outstanding camping opportunities on their public lands,” said Acting Lander Field Manager Laura Lozier. “By raising the overnight fees, we’ll be better able to keep up with the increasing demand that we’re experiencing while we continue to provide high quality services.”
The Lander Field Office will raise the overnight fee at Atlantic City and Big Atlantic Gulch campgrounds near Atlantic City, and the Cottonwood Campground on Green Mountain, to $20 per night for standard sites and $40 per night for group sites. Additional vehicles after the first vehicle and trailer can be added at a rate of $10 per vehicle or trailer. All other BLM-managed recreation sites within the Lander Field Office area will remain free to use.
The new overnight fees will be comparable to similar campgrounds in the region. Fees collected will be put back into these campgrounds for maintenance and future improvements.
The draft plan was coordinated with the Wind River Outdoor Recreation Collaborative and the Wyoming Recreation Advisory Committee. It was available for public comment from June 5 through July 5.
