(Riverton, WY)– Boys & Girls Club of Riverton is pleased to announce the addition of Emily Kusel as its new Site Director, marking an important step in the continued growth and impact of the Club’s Riverton location.
Kusel has been a dedicated member of the Boys & Girls Club team for nearly four years, serving as Assistant Director of the Boys & Girls Club of Riverton in roles focused on youth programming, daily operations, and member engagement. Throughout her time with the organization, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to creating a safe, supportive, and enriching environment where young people can learn, grow, and thrive. During that time, the Club has experienced tremendous growth, expanding from serving approximately 20 members per day to as many as 93 youth daily through its after-school program, homeschool PE program, and Summer Day Camp.
One of her proudest accomplishments has been the development of a thriving Tween Program, which provides pre-teen students with a safe and supportive environment after school and throughout the summer months. The program focuses on introducing members to career paths they may not have previously considered while also fostering leadership skills that will benefit them for years to come.
As she steps into the role of Director, one of her primary goals is to build upon that success by establishing a Teen Program. It is especially meaningful that the founding members of this expanded opportunity could be the same young people who have grown alongside the Club since its opening in August 2021. Their continued involvement reflects the lasting impact and strong sense of community the Club has created.

I am honored and excited to step into this new leadership role and continue building relationships with youth, families, and staff while helping create opportunities that support every young person’s success,” said Kusel. “Every day brings gratitude for the opportunity to help inspire and support the next generation of doctors, teachers, engineers, scientists, and business leaders in our community.”
Since opening its doors in 2021, the Boys & Girls Club of Riverton has provided a safe place for more than 325 youth. With the purchase of the former Ashgrove Elementary building in 2024, the Club now offers even more opportunities for growth, including dedicated program spaces, a gymnasium, a cafeteria for snacks and meals, a designated tween space, and outdoor recreation areas.
Through intentional mentoring, academic support, healthy lifestyle programming, and character development, the Club helps young people build the skills they need for success beyond high school.
