(Casper, WY) – Riverton High School’s boys golf team competed against 11 other 4A teams at the Casper Invitational last Thursday and Friday.
On day one golfers hit the Casper Golf Course and the second day they’d compete at 3 Crowns Golf Course. Ultimately, Riverton placed 7th in the crowded field. Laramie, Natrona County and Kelly Walsh took the top three spots.
Individually, there was no stopping Campbell County’s Jaxon Burr. He was not only solid, but consistent, shooting a 68 both days for a two-day 136. Laramie’s Porter Stender and Natrona’s Jaxson Bratton tied for second place, both shooting impressive 140’s.
Riverton’s top finisher was Brody Taylor, coming in 10th place. Brody shot a day one 75 and a day two 76. Fellow Wolverine Cameron Brown was two shots behind him in 12th. Cade Kisling finished 29th and John Hull 30th. Austin Romero, Lexington Kirkland and Colton Burnett all placed in the top 50.
Laramie’s girls won a 9-team event in the Oil City. Cheyenne Central and Kelly Walsh took silver and bronze. Central’s Bella Beach won the event with a 152, Laramie’s Addie Plassmeyer was second with a 159.
