The Lander Community Foundation (LCF) annual community-wide fundraiser Challenge for Charities, or C4C, is back at again for 2026, and as of May 1, the LCF will match any donations made to eligible local nonprofits through July 10.
Since its inception in 2011, LCF has collectively raised and distributed nearly $7 million dollars to help local nonprofits help our community. Money raised during this period ensures programs continue to run and that doors stay open.

About Our Organization: Pushroot Community Garden is a volunteer-run community garden dedicated to increasing access to fresh, locally grown food while fostering education, sustainability, and community connection. Through shared gardening spaces, educational opportunities, and food donations, we help residents learn to grow their own food, build relationships, and support local food security efforts.
How to Donate: Donations to Pushroot Community Garden can be made through the Challenge for Charities campaign by making a check out to Lander Community Foundation (mailed to PO Box 1131, Lander WY 82520 or dropped at LCF’s office in the Mill at 101 Main Street). Please designate Pushroot Community Garden as the recipient of your gift. How Challenge for Charities Funds Will Be Used: Funds raised through Challenge for Charities will support the ongoing operation and growth of Pushroot Community Garden, including:
- Seeds, plants, soil amendments, and gardening supplies
- Maintenance and improvements to garden infrastructure
- Educational programming and community workshops
- Food-growing efforts that support local families and food assistance initiatives

WYOMING OUTDOOR COUNCIL RAISES FUNDS TO PRESERVE LANDER’S ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY OF LIFE
Donations support conservation advocacy, education, and community engagement in Lander
(Lander, Wyoming) – The Wyoming Outdoor Council is raising funds to support vital conservation efforts as part of the Lander Community Foundation’s Challenge for Charities fundraiser through July 10. With existential threats to public lands, soaring energy prices, and historic drought threatening the livelihoods of local residents, effective advocacy is more critical than ever to preserve Wyoming’s environment and quality of life.
Based in Lander, the Outdoor Council is the state’s oldest and largest independent conservation advocacy group, dedicated to protecting Wyoming’s public lands, wildlife, clean air, and clean water. WOC has a track record of conservation wins spanning decades. In the past year alone, the Outdoor Council helped pass a resolution affirming Wyoming’s commitment to public lands, rallied public support for protecting the Sublette pronghorn migration corridor, and championed legislation that leveled the playing field for electric vehicle drivers. In addition, WOC regularly hosts events like Mountainfilm on Tour and River Bash to foster community engagement around environmental issues that impact the Lander area.
Your donation will help the Outdoor Council:
- Host educational events about issues that directly impact Lander, like threats to the Middle Fork of the Popo Agie River and the need for clean energy solutions
- Maintain strong community support for protecting public lands
- Support community members’ conservation efforts through educational opportunities, community events, letter writing, and trainings
- Provide free meeting spaces for local nonprofits and community groups

Lander Womentum Rallies Community Support Through Annual Challenge for Charities Fundraiser
Matching donation campaign runs through July 10th
LANDER, WY — June 2, 2026 — Lander Womentum, a volunteer-run organization dedicated to connecting and inspiring local women, announced its participation in the annual Challenge for Charities (C4C) fundraising campaign. Hosted by the Lander Community Foundation, this community-wide initiative runs from May 1st through July 10th. The C4C serves as a primary funding source to sustain Womentum’s monthly events, workshops, and mentorship programs.
As a grassroots organization, Lander Womentum relies heavily on individual donations to provide impactful programming for women of diverse generations and backgrounds. Every local dollar designated to Lander Womentum is matched by the Lander Community Foundation, increasing the financial impact of individual contributors. Over 50 local organizations benefit from this matching pool annually.
“When women define their own goals and are inspired by a supportive network, they become empowered leaders within our community,” said Michelle Escudero, Board Chair. “Participating in Challenge for Charities allows us to secure the financial resources needed to foster these intentional social connections and help Lander women realize their full potential.”

Wyoming Wildlife Federation invites community support for local programs connecting people to Wyoming’s outdoors and wildlife
(Lander, WY) — The Wyoming Wildlife Federation (WWF) is participating in Challenge for Charities, raising support for local programs that connect youth, families, and Lander community members to Wyoming’s wildlife, outdoor traditions, and public lands.
A major focus of WWF’s work in Lander is outdoor youth education. Through summer camps, local kids spend time outside learning about wildlife, ecology, outdoor safety, conservation, and Wyoming’s natural landscapes. The camps give youth hands-on experiences in the outdoors while building confidence, curiosity, and stewardship for the place they call home.
In addition to summer camps, WWF continues to expand programming for the Lander community through events like Wildlife on Tap, a monthly speaker series that brings people together to learn and discuss wildlife and conservation issues impacting Wyoming today.
WWF also hosts two adult learn-to-hunt programs, Living Wyoming Wild and More Than Gatherers in Lander. Living Wyoming Wild is designed to help participants build confidence, skills, and knowledge around Wyoming’s hunting traditions, wildlife conservation, and outdoor ethics. More Than Gatherers is WWF’s women-only immersive learn-to-hunt program, creating a supportive environment for women to gain hands-on experience, mentorship, and deeper connections to Wyoming’s outdoor heritage. These programs expand access to outdoor education and help foster lifelong connections to wildlife, conservation, and hunting traditions.
