(Casper, WY) – The Casper Police Department charged a Riverton man last month with sexually abusing a 16-year-old girl and inducing her to create digital sexual content.
Steven Charles Oldman, 57, appeared in circuit court on the charges on Dec. 8, and the case was filed for district court arraignment, where he will enter a formal plea in the coming months.
Oldman is presumed innocent unless found or pleading guilty.
In September, the girl reported to police that Oldman was sending her sexual messages and handed over her phone, according to the probable cause affidavit. CPD Detective Chris Miller reviewed messages between the girl and Oldman going back to January 2025.
The data reportedly revealed conversations related to Oldman purchasing an adult novelty item for the girl. The girl reportedly sent four videos to Oldman that constitute eight charges related to child sexual abuse material: four for enticing the girl to create the videos and four for possessing them.
The texts also suggested Oldman had met the girl for sex, and the victim confirmed the encounter to investigators, according to the affidavit.
Bond was set for Oldman last month at $75,000 cash only.
