Start with the dazzling Light Up Lander Parade on Saturday, December 7, followed by the heartwarming Old Fashioned Christmas at the Pioneer Museum on December 14. And don’t miss the spectacular performance of Tomaseen Foley’s A Celtic Christmas on December 16, brought to you by Lander Performing Arts. Gather your family, friends, and neighbors to celebrate the spirit of Christmas right here in Lander!
Light Up Lander Parade – December 7
The City of Lander invites you to the Light Up Lander Parade on Saturday, December 7, at 6 PM. This magical event will illuminate Main Street, starting at Baldwin Street and ending at 2nd Street. It’s not too late to register your float—whether you represent a business, club, organization, church, team, or simply your family, everyone is welcome! Registration is free and open at City Hall until December 2.
This year’s parade promises a festive spectacle, complete with Santa Claus riding in style with the Lander Volunteer Fire Department. For safety, Main Street will be temporarily closed, so please follow the guidance of the Lander Police Department. Businesses and restaurants are encouraged to stay open late to welcome parade-goers, offering an opportunity to shop, dine, and soak up the holiday lights.
Old Fashioned Christmas – December 14
Step back in time with the 2nd Annual Old Fashioned Christmas at the Pioneer Museum on Saturday, December 14, from 6-8 PM. This enchanting event is free and open to all, offering a stroll through the beautifully lit Pioneer Village. Immerse yourself in the magic of the season with live music, crafts, and festive treats.
Enjoy the cozy glow of the historic buildings, where you can find peaceful moments in the church, savor hot chocolate at the General Store, and create holiday crafts in the one-room schoolhouse. The livery stable will host a variety of activities, while members of the Lander Valley High School band and choir will fill the air with Christmas classics. Plus, kids (and adults!) can decorate and enjoy cookies prepared by the LVHS Culinary Arts students. There will be an appearance by a very special guest from the North Pole! Don’t forget to bundle up—it may be cold, but the holiday spirit will warm your heart!
The event is part of the “I Light History” campaign by the Wind River Culture Foundation, raising funds to illuminate the Pioneer Museum and other county museums for the holidays.

Tomaseen Foley’s – A Celtic Christmas – December 16
Get ready for a delightful evening of Celtic holiday magic! On Monday evening, December 16, Lander Performing Arts will proudly present the critically acclaimed tour “Tomaseen Foley’s A Celtic Christmas” at the LVHS auditorium.
This show transports audiences back to the heart of the Irish countryside, celebrating the holidays with a joyful blend of traditional Celtic music, song, dance, and storytelling. For over 25 years, native Irishman Tomaseen Foley and his world-class ensemble have been captivating audiences across the United States, bringing the spirit of an old-fashioned Irish Christmas to life.
The show will start promptly at 7 PM and requires a ticket for entry. However, the festivities begin early! Starting at 5:30 PM, visit with Santa, the Grinch, and Christmas carolers in the LVHS commons. The pre-show fun is free, but we hope you’ll join us for the entire wondrous evening that’s perfect for the whole family!
