(Jackson, WY) – Central Wyoming College (CWC) celebrated the groundbreaking of its new Jackson Campus Thursday with a crowd of more than 100, including local and state elected officials, CWC leadership and faculty and many community stakeholders.
Central Wyoming College’s Jackson campus will provide essential degrees, certifications, programs, and continuing education classes critical to keeping Teton County thriving. Expansion of their associate degree nursing program, Medical Assisting, Patient Care Technician, Phlebotomy, and Medical Office Support are some of the programs that will help Teton County retain and fill medical positions.
A successful 2017 and 2022 Specific Purpose Excise Tax (SPET) campaign saw the community overwhelmingly support funds to make this campus a reality. Voter-approved funding has been coupled with state support for ARPA funding and private philanthropy to build this new campus located directly next to Jackson Hole High School.
“It has truly taken a village to get to this point, and we are grateful to the CWC Board of Trustees, local and state electeds, CWC leadership and staff, architects and engineers, State Building Commission, CWC President’s Council, TCSD leadership and the many community members whose work and support have contributed to the success of CWC Jackson,” says CWC President Dr. Brad Tyndall. “I’d especially like to recognize Senator Mike Gierau, previous Teton Representative Andy Schwartz and Fremont Representative Lloyd Larsen for their hard work and leadership to get to this important milestone.”

We will continue to build off the success of our four-year applied bachelor’s degrees and be nimble in the certifications and classes this community and its businesses and nonprofits need.”
