Riverton, WY — The Central Wyoming College (CWC) Music Department invites the community to celebrate an exciting lineup of spring performances showcasing student talent and collaborative artistry.
The season begins with the Spring Choral Showcase on Tuesday, April 21, at 7 p.m. in the Robert A. Peck Arts Center Theatre. This free concert will feature performances by the CWC Handbell Choir and Collegiate Chorale. Audience members can look forward to familiar and beloved selections, including a handbell arrangement of “The Water is Wide” and two movements from Mozart’s renowned Requiem. Both ensembles will be joined by special instrumental guests, adding depth and richness to the evening’s program.
The celebration of music continues with the Spring Bands Showcase on Friday, May 1, at 7 p.m., also held in the Peck Arts Center Theatre. This concert will feature the College Band and the Time’s a Wastin’ Jazz Ensemble, offering a dynamic mix of traditional band repertoire and lively jazz selections. Admission is free.
“These concerts highlight the dedication and growth of our student musicians, as well as the joy of making music together,” said Jeremy Cochran, CWC Music Director. “We’re proud to share these performances with our community and invite everyone to experience the energy and creativity of our ensembles.”
Looking ahead, CWC encourages community members and prospective students to get involved in music this fall. Opportunities include participation in the Community Handbell Choir, Fremont County Band, jazz ensembles, choir, and a variety of group and individual music classes.
