Two-day event will feature nationally respected instructors teaching practical, low-stress livestock handling techniques
RIVERTON, Wyo. — Ranchers, livestock producers, Tribal members, and anyone interested in improving livestock handling are invited to participate in the Back to Nature Stockmanship Workshop, a free two-day educational event hosted by the Central Wyoming College Ag & Equine Center on Friday, July 31 – Saturday, August 1.
Held at Central Wyoming College’s Rustler Ag & Equine Center, the workshop will provide practical, hands-on instruction rooted in the proven stockmanship philosophy of Bud and Eunice Williams. Participants will learn techniques that reduce stress on livestock, improve animal welfare, increase efficiency, and contribute to healthier, more profitable operations.
The workshop will feature presentations and demonstrations from respected industry professionals, including:
- Delane Atcitty, Indian Nations Conservation Alliance, who will discuss ranch management, herd health, grazing systems, and improving profitability.
- Dawn Hnatow, Cattle Up Stockmanship, who will share practical techniques for understanding livestock behavior and implementing low-stress cattle handling methods based on the teachings of Bud and Eunice Williams.
Designed for producers of all experience levels, the workshop emphasizes understanding how cattle think and move, allowing handlers to work more effectively while reducing stress on both livestock and people.
The event is free to attend thanks to the support of a generous donor. Lunch will be provided both days.

Attendance is limited to 50 participants, and advance registration is required.
The workshop is hosted by the Central Wyoming College, Indian Nations Conservation Alliance, Indigenous Grazing Lands Coalition, Cattle Up Stockmanship, and Holistic Management International.
