Bookmarked Literary Arts Festival
Preparing for the 6th Annual Bookmarked Literary Arts Festival is not unlike a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party. Every few minutes we jump to a completely new topic and, say, focus on the zany poetry session which has been taking place in the natural wood decked space of the yoga studio in Lander’s iconic grain silo building. Clean cup! We shuffle to the merry ol’ land of nonfiction, where we create authors’ lists of another color! And then our book fair takes center stage again, and the pridelands bow in honor at the regal messy haired king.
I’m not saying the process is scattered or disorganized! I’m also not saying the experience is linear or smoothly jointed, Fun is a better word. The second weekend of October in Lander is a collection of thinkers and communicators. Souls from around Wyoming and many earlier origins who share the bonding trait of speaking truths through writing. Creating shared reality through imaginative wordsmithing.

Community Entry Services

Community Entry Services (CES) provides lifelong, comprehensive support and services to about 140 adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and acquired brain injuries in Teton and Fremont Counties, WY. CES owns and operates accessible, affordable housing options and provides adult day services and vocational opportunities for adults with disabilities.
Incorporated in Wyoming, CES helps people become independent, working, contributing members of their communities. CES is a member of the Wyoming Community Service Providers Association (WCSP).
Adults with disabilities or acquired brain injuries ages 21 and up are served by CES year round. They thank you for your support!
Fremont Symphony Orchestra
A healthy community requires creative, aesthetic experiences for its citizens. There must be inclusive opportunities for people of different cultures, generations, and experiences. The Fremont Symphony Orchestra provides a platform for young beginners to perform a wide variety of musical pieces alongside seasoned musicians. A musical ensemble gives its members the opportunity to create something of beauty with one another that no one individual can create on his or her own. In rural Fremont County, our local population does not have the volume of musicians to create a full, balanced orchestra. The FSO’s musician import program satisfies this need by collaborating with musicians from around the state of Wyoming to fill in the missing parts. Collaboration with musicians from around the state creates a diverse ensemble, whose performances enhance the experience of the local musicians and community audience members alike.
Through fundraising and grant funding, the FSO has also collaborated with professional musicians to perform alongside local orchestra members. This creates a unique educational experience in which school-aged violinists can play alongside world-renowned cellists, for example, who provide artistic interpretation and insight on the preparation of classical repertoire in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
