(Casper, WY) – The bumper match went to the Thermopolis Bobcats late Friday night on the big floor at the Ford Wyoming Center in Casper. The Chiefs beat the Bobcats just a week ago in regional tournament play in Riverton, but this time, it was all Thermopolis after the opening period in a 60-47 win.
The two teams traded baskets early, with the Chiefs taking their last lead of the game with 1:51 remaining in the opening period on a Parlayne Ferris 3-pointer. The 11-10 advantage disappeared over the final minutes of the quarter, with Thermopolis rolling on a 7-0 run to take an 18-11 lead at the end of the opening period.
Wyoming Indian closed to three points with 3:44 left in the half but that was as close as they could come.
The Thermopolis trio of Cody Bomegen, Zak Hastie and Brody Potter combined for 43 of the Bobcats 60 points with Bomegen scoring 20, Hastie 17 and Potter 16.

Ferris led the Chiefs with 13, including a pair of 3-point shots. Heeyeniniitou Monroe-Black scored 10.
The Chiefs face Sundance in the third-place game on Saturday at Natrona County High School. Tip off is scheduled for 3 pm.
