(Pavillion, WY) – It looked a little like the Harlem Globetrotters were in town at Pavillion Thursday night, but it was the top-ranked Wyoming Indian Chiefs. The Chiefs had a little fun in the Purple Palace in an 81-30 win over the Cougars.
They passed the ball in a variety of ways, had a couple of dunks, and moved to 3-0 in the Southwest 2-A in the process. The Cougars are 0-3 in the Southwest.
The epitome of the game came midway through the opening period when Cordell Spoonhunter took a long outlet pass, spun around to catch it, and flipped the ball backwards over his head with a no-look pass. He hit Jordan Black in stride on a one-bounce pass that had Black fluidly laying in the ball with his left hand.
That type of play, combined with a dunk by Spoonhunter and another by Heeyei’Niitou Monroe-Black, provided an entertaining, albeit short, game of basketball
