The City of Lander is thrilled to announce the next step in the development of the 2024 Master Plan. Two community surveys are being launched today and will remain open through December 15. These surveys aim to gather valuable input from residents and build upon the public engagement efforts held in July across various community locations.
The first survey focuses on the overall 2024 Master Plan, which will define the City’s vision and goals for the future. This plan will guide the allocation of resources and highlight priorities to improve the quality of life for residents and visitors. The second survey is dedicated to Lander’s parks and recreation facilities. Your feedback will help shape the future of our parks and recreational opportunities, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of our community. This survey is also quick to complete and is available online or at City Hall.

The project is expected to be ready for review and adoption by the Lander City Council in the coming months.
The 2024 Master Plan initiative began with the City Council’s authorization in March 2024 for Ayres Associates to lead the project. This effort is the first comprehensive update since 2012 and marks a significant step forward. While many of the goals from the 2012 Master Plan have been accomplished or are in progress, new priorities have emerged, reflecting the evolving needs and aspirations of Lander residents.
Master plans serve as roadmaps for communities, addressing topics such as land use, natural resources, economic development, transportation, and more. The 2024 Master Plan will take a fresh look at these areas to guide Lander’s growth and progress over the next decade.
