- Applying sand and salt to slick areas and intersections to enhance safety.
If driving is necessary, please exercise caution, reduce your speed, and remain vigilant at intersections and slick spots. Forecasted temperatures in the upper 30s and 40s over the next few days should assist in the melting process.
Residential Snow Removal Responsibilities
Residents play an essential role in ensuring community safety during snow events. Please adhere to these guidelines:
- Do not push or dump snow from driveways or sidewalks onto City streets or property. This can create hazards for emergency vehicles and other drivers.
- If you have a fire hydrant on your property, clear snow around the hydrant or consider offering assistance to a neighbor who may need help.
- Shovel sidewalks and walking areas promptly, even if there is no concrete surface.
- Sidewalks and walking paths on empty lots must also be cleared of snow.
- Avoid plowing the street in front of your residence.
- You may remove snow from the concrete gutter section (18-24 inches wide) and place it into the street to allow for proper drainage of the snowmelt.
