Class 3-A Swimming: Lander Valley’s Lady Tigers win third State Championship in a row; Riverton 9th

(Laramie, Wyo.) – The Lander Valley Lady Tigers won their third straight Class A State Swimming Championship Saturday in Laramie, with another overwhelming performance. The Lady Tigers rolled u p 279 points to easily outdistance second place Powell with 172. Riverton finished the meet in ninth place.

Lander Valley’s 200 Yard Medley Relay team (Olivia Fowler, McKenzieLilygren, Anastasia Cornale and Molly Fehringer) set a new 3A state record in the preliminaries, with a time of 1 minute 51.00 seconds.

The Lady Tigers’ Cornale was named the Athlete of the Meet. Cornale won two individual events and was on two winning relays. Coach of the Year honors went to Shawna Morgan of LVHS.

Riverton’s Jose Dike was the champion in the 100 Yard Freestyle.
