Thermopolis had their way in both the boys’ and girl’s opening round regional contests against Wind River on Thursday.
The Lady Bobcats handled the Lady Cougars in surprisingly easy fashion in a 53-28 win and the Thermopolis boys had no problem in routing the Cougars 72-17.
In the boys’ game, the Bobcats poured in 30 opening period points while holding the winless Cougars scoreless. Thermopolis led 51-6 at the half, setting up a very quick second half via the 40-point mercy rule.
Thermopolis faces Wyoming Indian in a 4:30 pm semi-final Friday afternoon at Riverton high school while Wind River plays Shoshoni Friday morning with the loser going home for the season.

In the girls’ contest, Thermopolis won every period aside from the final one in dominating Wind River from start to finish. Few things went right for the Lady Couars in the game.
Wind River was dismal from the line, hitting just five of 13 attempts and hit just a single 3-point shot.
Thermopolis rained in eight 3-pointers and dominated the game on the boards.
Jonae Spoonhunter led Wind River with 13.
The Lady Cougars also play Shoshoni Friday morning with the winner advancing to a state qualifying game on Saturday morning.
