After the sad news of Mayor Monte Richardson’s unexpected passing this morning, the Lander City Council will hold a special meeting on February 18th, 2025, at 6 PM at the City Council Chambers at 240 Lincoln Street. The purpose of this meeting will be to appoint a mayor pro tem and to discuss the process for appointing a new mayor. The Mayoral vacancy will be filled in accordance with the process outlined in 12-5-1 of the Lander Municipal Code.
Condolences may be left in a tribute book in City Hall’s foyer for those wishing to leave remembrances for family and City staff during this difficult time. More information will be provided later regarding memorial services for Mayor Monte Richardson.
