(Caper, WY) – Country music star Cole Swindell may be from Gerogia, but he knew how to fire a Wyoming crowd up Friday night at Casper’s Ford Wyoming Center.
In the early 2010’s, Swindell gradually earned fame amongst the “inner circle” country crowd by writing songs for artists like Luke Bryan, Craig Campbell and Florida Georgia Line. In 2013, he independently released a single, ‘Chillin’ It,’ which quickly climbed country radio charts. In 2015, he received the Academy of Country Music Award for “New Artist of the Year.”
Since then, he’s been selling out arenas across the country and releasing many chart-topping hits.
Friday night, he played for country music fanatics in Wyoming, singing hits like, ‘Single Saturday Night,’ ‘Hope You Get Lonely,’ ‘You Should Be Here,’ ‘Love You Too Late,’ ‘Break Up In The End,’ ‘Ain’t Worth The Whiskey,’ ‘Forever To Me,’ Flatliner’ and following a medley of 90’s country covers, he concluded with ‘She Had Me At Heads Carolina.’ The fan-favorite is a tribute to the Jo Dee Messina 1996 song, ‘Heads Carolina, Tails California.’
About 2/3’s of the way through his Friday night show, Swindell briefly disappeared for a “costume change” of sorts, replacing his hooded sweatshirt with a Wyoming Cowboys number 17 jersey.
Naturally, the Ford Wyoming Center went crazy for the nod to former Pokes quarterback, and NFL MVP, Josh Allen.
Wyoming country music fans now can look forward to; Parker McCollum on October 16th, Zach Top November 1st and, newly announced, Ian Munsick on February 19th at the Ford Wyoming Center. It’s yet to be seen if they’ll wear any brown and gold.
