The following press release was included in the January 28 call log:
Overnight, two Fremont County Schools were the subject of a suspected “swatting” incident involving bomb threats. The Dubois School and Arapahoe School both received the same automated message containing a bomb threat. Security procedures were enacted and both schools were swept by Law Enforcement, finding no evidence of tampering or suspicious items.
Investigation of the messages has revealed that the same threat has been received by schools in at least 12 different counties across Wyoming with reports of similar incidents in Nebraska. There is no evidence to suggest that there is any validity to the threats and they appear to be a hoax. The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office is in communication with other State, Federal and local Law Enforcement Agencies and investigation continues into the source.

The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office reports over the past 24 hours the Fremont County Emergency Dispatch Center has taken 41 calls for service. During that same time period, the county’s ambulances have been dispatched 10 times and the county’s fire departments have been dispatched 4 times.
