RIVERTON, Wyo. — Central Wyoming College invites the community to experience Photography of Place, an exhibition celebrating the people, places and experiences that define the American West.
The exhibition is on display Sept. 11 through Oct. 16 at the Central Wyoming College Art Gallery in Riverton.
Photography of Place explores the idea of photography rooted in place and experience, images that capture not only what we see, but what we feel. Featuring photography connected to Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota, the exhibition celebrates the landscapes, people and moments that give the West its character.
The community is invited to a reception and awards ceremony Saturday, Oct. 3, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the CWC Arts Center Gallery. A total of $10,000 in award money will be presented to this year’s winning artists.
The evening will include a cash bar hosted by Livestock Liquors and hors d’oeuvres provided by Kai Espresso.
The exhibition welcomes both experienced and developing artists and celebrates photography that returns to its roots: authentic images with a sense of place, connection and soul.
Photography of Place is open to the public through Oct. 16 at the Central Wyoming College Art Gallery.
