Central Wyoming College Rustlers Face Challenging Outcomes Against Northeastern JC and Trinidad State in Basketball Matchups

In a pivotal series of games at Casper, WY, the Central Wyoming College Rustlers men’s basketball team faced tough competition against Northeastern JC and Trinidad State College. The Rustlers, showing moments of resilience and skill, ultimately could not secure a win in these key matchups within their season’s non conference schedule.

In the first game against Northeastern JC on November 14, Julian Ormond emerged as a standout player for the Rustlers, scoring a high of 23 points while Jordan Peel contributed with 11 points. Despite their efforts, the Rustlers lagged with a halftime score of 42-33 and eventually fell with a final score of 77-52. Northeastern JC maintained control throughout the game, outscoring the Rustlers in both halves.

The following day, the Rustlers faced Trinidad State College in a game filled with strategic plays and critical shots. The game opened with Trinidad State taking an early lead with scores from Dylan Omweno and Maurice Thomas, who was notable for his three-pointers during the match. Despite a stronger defensive effort in the second half and key rallies by Isaac Patik, who tied the score multiple times and led in rebounds, the Rustlers couldn’t gain the lead. By the end of the fourth period, Trinidad State sealed their win with a final scoreboard showing 77-67.

Throughout these matches, the Rustlers demonstrated improved defensive tactics and resilience under pressure. Isaac Patik and Luke Danielson worked hard to narrow the gaps through critical three-pointers and free throws, but the continuous scoring from Trinidad’s Donavahan Cain and Maurice Thomas in the final stages was decisive. The Rustlers now stand with a challenging season record of 1-5, reflecting the tough competition they’ve faced.

CWC Men’s Soccer Dominates Regional Honors with Five All-Conference Awards

Riverton, WY – The Central Wyoming College Rustler Men’s Soccer team capped off an outstanding season with significant recognition from NJCAA Region 9, securing five All-Conference awards, a testament to the talent and dedication within the squad.

• Charles Jones and Louis Loizou were both named to the All-Conference 2nd Team, recognizing their consistent high-level play throughout the season. Jones led the team in goals this year (5) and Loizou led the Rustlers in assists (6).
• Stanley Schumann, Quentin Riballet, and Drake Terra each received an Honorable Mention for their impactful contributions to the team’s success.
• The Rustlers also had players recognized with the All-Tournament distinction, with Schumann & Jones highlighted for their outstanding efforts during the Region 9 tournament.

This impressive showing solidifies CWC’s presence among the region’s best and highlights the Rustlers’ competitive spirit and commitment to excellence in NJCAA Region 9 men’s soccer.

This announcement follows a strong campaign for the CWC Rustlers in Region 9 competition, where the team finished with a 7-8-1 overall and 5-5 conference record as well as hosted and won their first ever Region 9 playoff game.

Central Wyoming Volleyball Dominates Postseason Honors: Five Rustlers Earn NJCAA Region 9 Accolades

RIVERTON, WY – The Central Wyoming College Rustler Volleyball team capped a successful season by securing multiple individual honors, with five athletes earning prestigious NJCAA Region 9 All-Conference and All-Tournament awards.

Sophomores Presley Ryan and Rachel Workman led the way, each being named to the First Team All-Region 9. Ryan led the team in kills (354) and kills per set (2.81), and Workman was a force on the net with the second highest hitting percentage (0.233) on the team.

Joining them in the postseason honors is Hallie Johnson, who was named to the Second Team All-Region 9. Johnson led the team in digs (479), and received multiple Region 9-North Defensive Player of the Week recognitions during the season.

The Rustlers’ deep run in the Region 9 Tournament was further recognized as two key sophomores were selected for the All-Tournament Team. Middle blocker Laina Whitney and outside hitter Nora Rasmussen both delivered outstanding performances under pressure during the championship bracket play, each racking up 45 and 42 kills across five total tournament games, respectively.
