History:
This is the 4th meeting in the modern day between the two teams.
The Knights are 3-0 vs Central with two of the games have come in tournament play. The other was a 111-101 pre-season win in a game at LCCC in 2016 under coach Jack Nelson.
North Platte won in 2014, 71-69 at NJC, and again in 2015, 74-66 at Northwest College
Tournament Play:
Central has advanced to the second round of the Region 9 Tournament each year since the Region 9 Play-in format (5-0). Central, however, has not made it past the second round since bringing basketball back in 2008.
North Platte has won the Region 9 Tournament twice (30-6), 20013, and 2010 (29-6).

“ I’ve mentioned to the guys from when we were losing a lot of games, the competition we’ve played has prepared us for this moment. Teams aren’t remembered for what they do in the regular season, they are remembered for what they do in the post-season. Can we do something magical over the next three days? I think they are all bought in and our fans will see the same team they did on Saturday when we were short handed and beat LCCC last Saturday”
Notes:
North Platte is coached by Kevin O’Connor who is three wins shy of 700 in his career. He’s the only the sixth coach since 1965 at North Platte in his 34th season.
