(Riverton, Wyo.) – Central Wyoming College Rustler Basketball kicks off the New Year on the road. The Rustler men’s basketball team is 5 and 9 on the season and have one more non conference road game. They’ll head to Miles City, Montana, Saturday to face Miles Community College at 1pm. The Pioneers are a similar 5 and 8 on the season. Miles hosts Gillette College Friday.
Coach Brad Schmit will take only 9 players to Miles due to injuries, discipline, and grade eligibility issues during the first half of the season.
Both Rustler basketball teams will be on the road Wednesday, January 9th, when they go to Casper College and begin Region 9 play. The Lady Thunderbirds are the defending Region 9 Champions and are 10-4 on the season. The Casper College Men are ranked 11th in the nation in the latest NJCAA poll and are 15-1. Former Rustler Broc Finstuen is on the Casper roster averaging 11 points and nearly 7 rebounds a game.
