CWC Women’s Soccer Coach Named NJCAA Region 9 Women’s Soccer Coach of the Year After Record-Breaking Season

(Riverton, WY) – Central Wyoming College Women’s Soccer made history in their first-year under Head Coach Ben Nelson, who was named the 2025–26 NJCAA Region 9 Coach of the Year. One of the youngest head coaches in the nation to earn this recognition, Nelson led the Rustlers to their most successful season in program history.

Under his leadership, the team achieved several program firsts: its first-ever playoff berth, first playoff victory, and first appearance in the Region 9 playoff semifinals. CWC also earned its highest tournament seed in school history (#4) and recorded the program’s first shutout win, mercy-rule victory, and three-game win streak.

Statistically, the Rustlers reached new heights. They finished with a 7-3 region record and a 9-6 overall record — both program bests. The team scored the most goals in a season (24 in region play) and allowed the fewest goals ever (10 in region play).

The 2025 season also produced six Region 9 All-Conference selections, the most in program history, including the first two players to earn 1st Team All-Conference honors.

Coach Nelson’s impact on the program was recognized across Region 9. Opposing coaches praised the transformation of the Rustlers, noting the significant progress made in just one year.

“I’m proud of this group,” said Nelson. “They’ve raised the standard for what this program can be. Everything we accomplished came from their work, their discipline, and their belief. Once you’ve been in the semifinals and get a little taste of what playoff soccer feels like, you want to be a part of that every year. I hope our returning freshmen remember that feeling and let it drive them to even more success next season.”

Central Wyoming College Women’s Soccer Dominates Region 9 All-Conference Selections

RIVERTON, Wyo. – The Central Wyoming College Women’s Soccer team proudly announces that six of its outstanding student-athletes have been recognized with NJCAA Region 9 All-Conference honors for their exceptional performance during the 2025 season. This remarkable achievement highlights the depth of talent and dedication within the Rustler’s soccer program.

Leading the charge are Sienna Bodily and Jersee Clapier, who were both named to the 1st Team All-Conference. Bodily showcased her defensive prowess with 2 shutouts and contributed significantly with 3 assists, accumulating 3 points. Clapier was a force on the offensive end, netting an impressive 6 goals, along with 2 assists, for a total of 14 points.

The Rustlers also had two players selected for the 2nd Team All-Conference: Katelynn Kartchner and Madilyn Shillig. Kartchner demonstrated her versatility with 6 goals and 1 assist, tallying 13 points for the season. Shillig proved to be a formidable presence in goal, earning 2 shutouts.

Rounding out the All-Conference honorees with Honorable Mentions are Bryton Brown and Jillian Nelson. Brown was a key defensive player, securing 2 shutouts, while Nelson contributed with 1 assist.
