Riverton, Wyo. — Central Wyoming College’s Institute of Tribal Learning will host “Protecting the Circle,” a community-focused event addressing the urgent issues of human trafficking and Missing and Murdered Indigenous People (MMIP) and Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives (MMIR307). The event will take place on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, from 4-6 p.m. in Room HS100 of the Health & Science Building on the CWC campus.
This two-hour program brings together national and local voices to connect global perspectives on human trafficking exploitation with grassroots advocacy efforts on the Wind River Reservation.
The event will feature keynote speaker Tyler Schwab, a nationally recognized human rights activist and author and Founder and President at Libertas International, who will discuss the mechanisms of global exploitation and the role communities play in prevention. He will be joined by regional leaders, including local leaders of MMIP and MMIR307.
The program aims to raise awareness, support survivors, and mobilize community members for continued action, including participation in MMIP Awareness Day on May 5.
Community members, students, and stakeholders are encouraged to attend and engage in this important conversation.
