I moved here from Huntington, California 48 years ago. Married a hometown girl and raised a family here. I left California because the politics were destroying it. It is coming here quickly.
Politics are taking the simple little town we love and making it complicated. There is a fine line between progress and ruining a town forever. People have been moving here because of our way of life and now they want to change our town drastically. Citizens that have lived here all their lives have voiced real concerns to me.
This is your town! Do you want Lander to become another Jackson Hole or California? This is serious to me. This is not what I want, and neither do the longtime locals.
I have been on City Council for 18 years, managed a multi-million dollar Fremont County company for 17 years before selling our company, gaining at this time business management, engineering, construction and multiple heavy equipment skills.
During my past 15 years of employment at WYDOT, I have had numerous schools on HR, safety, employee management, and highway maintenance management. I have been on the Lander City Fire Dept. 39 years, which has definitely taught me teamwork under extreme conditions. I have skills, drive and I am now retired.
