Dozens of community leaders and citizens gathered at the Riverton Regional Airport terminal Thursday morning for a press conference held by Denver Air Connection.
Denver Air Connection’s Wade Goetz announced that the airline will be entering into an interline agreement with United Airlines, beginning in early 2019. “In an effort to continue to improve and meet the needs of the people, connectivity with a major airline has been our number one priority,” Goetz said. “This is a very proud moment for us at the Denver Air Connection, an effort that would not be possible without the communities unwavering support.”
Wade continued to thank the Fremont Air Service Team (FAST Committee), community members, and employees at Riverton Regional Airport for their support. “It has been a four-year process, it’s official, now folks, we have a whole lot of work to do,” Goetz added.
Riverton will have the ability to enjoy “a seemless partnership” with over 300 cities according to Goetz. He said the partnership with United includes baggage transfer service, passenger check-in through e-ticketing, and route visibility on the United Airlines website. “By the beginning of the year, you’ll find Riverton on United.com.”
Denver Air Connection is also expanding their website, and helping partner with travel search websites like Orbitz, Travelocity, and Kayak for more visibility to potential Riverton Regional Airport passengers.
Goetz said Denver Air will continue to work with the passengers of Riverton to help suit their needs, saying they are open to bringing in larger 50-seat aircrafts, if they can consistently fill the 30-seat planes currently in use.
FAST Committee Chairperson Missy White thanked Denver Air Connection and her team for their hard work. She pointed out that, “this is the kind of thing that businesses look at when they’re considering expanding to a new location. It took a huge cast of players to make this happen.”
Riverton Mayer Lars Baker also recognized many who made the partnership happen in front of the standing-room-only crowd. “Thanks to those who have served, it’s so difficult to put this together because there are so many pieces to put together to make this work” Baker said. He echoed White’s comments in saying that the project is good for the overall economy to Fremont County communities.
